Listen to Deadmau5’s “Some Chords”
“It puts me to fucking sleep to be quite honest, I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to fucking tears and hopefully with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur I’d like them to dis-a-fucking-pear. Joel continued, it’s so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers. You need them, but they’re fucking cunts. God bless them they’re my number one customer right so I’m not gonna go diss every fucking DJ. But to say you become this massive up-on-a-podium performer by playing other people’s productions at the same speed as someone else’s productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it.”

And when the strobe lights hit the floor, in the third quarter of the rave. When the crowd’s exhausted but the DJ’s keeping them going for one final stretch. When the crowd’s done and the DJ’s bringing them back for one more song. Baby let him blow your mind tonight.
The entire album is available for free on Kap Slap’s Soundcloud.

I don’t wanna change the world. I just wanna watch it go by. Like when you’re falling asleep or just waking up, in that half dream world, and time keeps going by but you’re not a part of it. Just a third party observing, as seconds drag into hours and surrealness of it wraps around the heaviness of the air you breathe. When the only cure for covers are a twelve step program and there’s nothing more you want in the world than for the moment to drag on for eternity.

“Initially I was really pleased that all these people claimed that they wanted me released because I thought that translated into “they care.” So time progresses and the fan base gets bigger and the “Free Earl” chants get louder but now with the “Free Earl” chants come a barely indirect “Fuck Earl’s Mom” and in the blink of an eye my worry changes from “will there still be this hype when I get back” to “Oh shit I just inspired a widespread movement of people who are dedicated to the downfall of my mom.”

Twin Sister - Gene Ciampi by DominoRecordCo
The first time I heard “Gene Ciampi”, the beach-pop second single from Twin Sister’s upcoming album In Heaven, it was like a twist between the Munsters theme song and a Beach Boys anthem, the hot, lazy twistings of “Ginger” sped up to an upbeat, light pace. And when the vocals come in, sighing like St. Vincent’s Annie Clarke, the beauty of the song comes into full fruition. The group’s full length is out September 27th of this year, and you can watch the music video to their first single, “Bad Street”, on Youtube.

And the Game song featuring Tyler the Creator and sampling Kanye West, “Martians Vs Goblins“ has garnered a lot of controversy for homophobic verses dissing both Bruno Mars and Chris Brown.
